2026 KESD Summer Camp Registration is Temporarily Closed

May 13, 2026

Summer Camp registration is temporarily closed (see ESY exceptions below). All currently registered students will be placed on a waitlist, and enrollment cannot be confirmed until June 12. You may still complete the waitlist form to reserve a potential spot, but placement is not guaranteed until then.

As many of you know, the KESD budget has not yet passed. The next vote will take place June 11. The KESD School Board has voted to maintain financial support for Summer Camp in the proposed budget.

If the budget passes June 11, Summer Camp will run. If it does not pass, Summer Camp will not run, as funding will be frozen until a later vote (likely late July).

It is also possible camp may need to run at reduced capacity, meaning fewer available spots and staff reductions.

We will continue to monitor staffing and the budget and will confirm whether your registered or waitlisted student can attend by June 12.

Extended School Year (ESY):

All students receiving ESY services through an IEP will still receive those services over the summer. This will likely be a half-day or services-only schedule rather than a full-day program. More details will be shared when available. If your student qualifies for ESY and has not already registered, please complete the waitlist form above.

We appreciate the School Board’s unanimous support for Summer Camp and KESD programs. This program plays an important role in supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally, and data shows it contributes to student academic growth. We remain hopeful we will be able to continue offering this opportunity to students this summer.
