Celebrating Jen’s Incredible Performance at the Albany Regional Powerlifting Meet

September 15, 2025

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of Jen Mitchell, a long-time Administrative Assistant at Lyndon Town School, who has served Kingdom East School District and LTS for over 10 years with dedication and heart. Outside of her role supporting students, staff, and families, Jen recently delivered an outstanding performance at the Regional Powerlifting Competition in Albany, NY, held during the first weekend of September—showcasing her strength, perseverance, and commitment to personal growth.

Jen’s path to the platform began in 2018, when she joined group training sessions at Kilos Performance. She quickly discovered a passion for strength training—particularly barbell work—and officially joined the Kilos Powerlifting Team in October 2022. That same fall, after attending her first meet as a spectator, she knew without a doubt that she wanted to compete.

With two active boys and a full-time career in education, Jen found that early morning training sessions provided her with time and space to focus on herself. “It became something just for me—my outlet,” she shared. Powerlifting quickly became more than a workout routine; it became a way of life.

In January of this year, Jen faced a hamstring injury that could have sidelined her progress—but instead, she chose to meet the challenge head-on. Through careful rehab and a disciplined return to training, she competed at the State Meet in April, where she qualified for Regionals, even while lifting lighter to protect her recovery.

At the Regional meet in Albany, Jen stepped onto the platform with focus and determination. Under the bright lights, she delivered an exceptional performance, achieving competition personal records in all three lifts:

  • Squat: 102.5 kg
  • Bench Press: 65 kg
  • Deadlift: 112.5 kg

These milestones reflect months of commitment to a structured training program, where she trained three times a week and worked methodically through all three lifts leading up to the meet.

Looking ahead, Jen is setting her sights on qualifying for Nationals, a goal that will require a 340 kg total in her weight class. With her work ethic and resilience, there’s no doubt she’s on a path toward achieving it.

Please join us in congratulating Jen—not only for her exceptional performance as a powerlifter, but also for the strength and dedication she brings every day to the Kingdom East community. Her journey is a powerful reminder that with passion and perseverance, anything is possible.

Congratulations, Jen! We’re proud to celebrate your success—both on and off the platform.
