[A Message from the Burke Area Chamber of Commerce]

The Chamber, East Burke Market, and other East Burke Village businesses are planning for The Gloaming - a Halloween event happening in the village on Saturday, October 26th from 4-7pm. The event is entirely free for anyone from anywhere to attend and enjoy. We did the event last year and it was a big success with an estimated 300 families attending.

So far, this year's event will include the following:

  • A Haunted Trail going from behind East Burke Sports/Sport Thoma to East Burke School
  • Trunk or Treat in the parking lot at East Burke Sports/Sport Thoma
  • Trick or Treating at participating village homes and businesses
  • Pumpkin Toss at Cafe Lotti
  • An event TBD at Burke Mountain Club
  • An event TBD at The Village Inn
  • An event TBD at East Burke School

There are lots of ways you can participate no matter where you live - EVERYONE is welcome to be part of and/or attend the event!

If you want to be part of Trunk or Treat, please let Kellie at East Burke Market know so she can add you to the list. You can also email the Burke Area Chamber at burkechamber@burkevermont.com and I will forward it to Kellie.

If you live in or have a business in East Burke Village, you can participate by being part of Trunk or Treat and/or:

Welcoming trick-or-treaters at your home or business (we will give you balloons you can put out to let kids know they are welcome) Having a Halloween activity at your business.

Remember to get LOTS OF CANDY!!!  LOTS!  300 families came last year!

Please email Laura, at the Burke Area Chamber if you want to be involved and how.

For safety, we will have volunteers along the road to stop traffic for families to cross the road as well as orange cones/signs to alert drivers. If you want to volunteer at the event, let me know.

One suggestion for restaurants/markets in the village - think about having pre-made, kid-friendly foods for families to be able to grab and go if they want to stop and have a quick bite to eat.

Thanks,

Laura Malieswski
