Moriah Wilson Foundation Expands Opportunities for KESD Students with $13,200 Gift for Experiential Learning

The Moriah Wilson Foundation (MWF) has awarded $13,200 to Kingdom East School District (KESD) to support cycling education and experiential learning opportunities for students across the district.

The funding helped make it possible for more than 100 middle school students from six KESD schools to participate in a six-week Spring 2026 cycling program and will continue to fund the program in the 2026-27 school year. Through partnerships with Kingdom Cycling and Experiences and the NorthWoods Stewardship Center, students learned to ride bikes or advanced their existing skills while exploring local trails alongside their classmates and teachers.

KESD's Experiential Learning programming integrates outdoor education with classroom learning, giving students opportunities to develop not only cycling skills but also important transferable skills such as Responsible Citizenship and Self-Direction. Students worked on goal setting, collaboration, perseverance, and confidence through hands-on learning experiences in the outdoors.

The Moriah Wilson Foundation's support extends beyond cycling. For many years, MWF has also been a dedicated supporter of KESD's school ski programs, helping ensure that students have access to recreation and outdoor learning experiences that promote lifelong healthy habits.

The Foundation is dedicated to promoting healthy living and community building by supporting organizations that expand access to recreation, sports, and educational programs. Its investment in KESD reflects that commitment by helping remove barriers to participation and creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn, grow, and connect with their communities through outdoor experiences.
