KESD Board Vacancy filled!

Last night at the KESD School Board Meeting over in Concord there was a lot going on!  One item on the agenda was "Board Development" which included filling a vacant seat on the board.

Every March there are school board elections and board members serve for three years. If a board member resigns during their term, the remaining board members can appoint someone to fill the vacant seat until March. In March all candidates would need to run in an election and fill out petitions to be on the ballot as with any normal election.

For the open Lyndon seat we had three applicants. The individuals attended the board meeting and spoke about their interests and qualifications. The Board then voted and selected one candidate, Lindsay Carpenter. The board was incredibly appreciative of all three candidates and their interest.
