Step Up and PROSPER: Strengthening Families Program Coming This Fall

Kingdom East School District, in partnership with the Northeast Prevention Coalition and University of Vermont Extension, is excited to offer the Strengthening Families Program (SFP) this fall.
This seven-session program is designed for students and their families and focuses on building strong relationships, communication skills, and positive decision-making to help students successfully transition to middle school.
What Will Families Explore?
The program includes separate topics for parents/caregivers and youth, giving families opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together.
Parent Topics:
- Communication
- Love and limits
- Setting expectations
- Spending time with your middle schooler
Youth Topics:
- Goal setting
- Peer pressure
- Decision-making
- Identifying values
- Showing respect and appreciation
Program Details:
📅 Dates: September 24, October 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and November 5
🕠 Time: 5:30–8:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Lyndon Town School
🍽️ Dinner and childcare will be provided.
