October 4th: Advocating with Personal Stories from Lived Experience 

Do you work with individuals who are sharing their stories to address inequities? Do you want to share your lived experience to help others? NEK Prosper and Living Proof invite community members and organizations who are interested in personal storytelling for advocacy to an introduction to the LPA approach, followed by a roundtable discussion about your practice/experience with personal storytelling for advocacy, and how applications of the LPA approach may support your work. 



October 7th: Halloween Costume Swap

The first Annual Community Halloween Costume Sway will take place at Four Seasons Park on Main Street in St. Johnsbury from 2-4 pm on Saturday, October 7th. Please note, you do not need to donate a costume in order to pick a new one.


October 7th: Fall for St. Johnsbury

If you are looking for something fall-themed to do with the whole family, make sure to visit Main Street, Eastern Avenue and Railroad Street in St. Johnsbury on Saturday, October 7th for the Fall for St. Johnsbury festival.



October 30th: Center for Advancing Rural Health Equity Fall Gathering

Learning and Acting Together in our Communities

When: Monday, October 30, 2023, 8:30 am to 1 pm
Where
: Lake Morey Resort, Fairlee, Vermont


Keynote address by: Dr. Yvonne Goldsberry, MPH, PhD (President, The Endowment for Health)


The Center for Advancing Rural Health Equity Fall Gathering will create a space for members from community services, health care delivery, research, and education to bring about transformational change by working together to eliminate unfair conditions and helping people in our rural New England communities to be as healthy as possible.


Participants will enhance their understanding of health equity challenges and solutions in our region, network with likeminded people, and come away better equipped to engage in partnerships for health equity in our communities.



November 23rd: 1st Annual Concord Health Center 5K Turkey Trot  to Support Sid's Pantry
Before you gobble your turkey, trot your way to a health holiday season by walking or running at 5K at the Concord Health Center. This Family friendly, self-timed race is offered to celebrate community, giving and gratitude. 


Event Details:

Start: Concord Health Center, 201 East Main Street

Register: On site at 8am. Race starts at 8:30am

Entrance Fee: By donations or non-perishable food items

SURVEY: Oral Health Care Access

Voices for Vermont's Children with our Oral Health Equity partners would like to learn from you about your overall health care and dental care access.  Completing this survey is voluntary and confidential, and we greatly appreciate your willingness to answer the questions. Parents or caregivers with children may choose to complete the survey on behalf of a child.


After competing the survey, you may choose to click on the provided link to be entered into a drawing for a $100 cash card. Depending on the survey response up to five may be awarded to participants. The drawing will occur on October 6th, winners will be contacted the week following.
