PreK-2nd Grade Basketball Skills Program
Our PreK-2nd grade basketball skills program is designed to introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of the game in a fun and engaging environment. We prioritize ball skill development, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. The PreK-2nd grade basketball skills program is set to tip off on January 4th and will run for 6 consecutive Saturdays, ending on February 8th.
Key Features
Age-appropriate drills and activities: Our program focuses on developing basic skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense in a way that is appropriate for young children.
Emphasis on fun: We believe that sports should be enjoyable for children. Our program emphasizes fun and gamesmanship over competition.
Basic rules and etiquette: We introduce children to the fundamental rules of basketball and teach them about good sportsmanship.
Partnering with local athletes: We collaborate with high school and college athletes to provide mentorship and role models for our young players.
Community involvement: We encourage community involvement by inviting parents and other community members to help coach.

- PreK-Kindergarten: 8:30 AM - 9:15 AM
- 1st and 2nd Grade: 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM

What to Expect
For our youngest athletes (PreK-Kindergarten)
- Fun, age-appropriate drills to develop fundamental skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting.
- Engaging games and activities to spark a love for the game.
For our 1st and 2nd graders
- Building on foundational skills with more advanced drills and techniques.
- Introduction to basic defensive strategies and offensive plays.
- Small-sided games to apply skills in a game-like setting.

Meet the Coaches
The North programs will be coached by Ashley Gerrish, Rachel Reindeau, Brady Wiegel, Zach Pouliet, and Olivia Cole. We will also have the Lyndon Varsity teams support the program as well.
Schedule
North Program:
The PreK-K program will run from 8:30-9:15
The 1st and 2nd-grade program will run from 9:30-10:30.
Both programs will take place at the Lyndon Town School Gym.
South Program:
The PreK-2nd grade program will run from 9:00-10:00 am at the Concord School.

Kingdom East 3rd & 4th Grade Basketball Program
Developing Skills, Building Confidence, and Having Fun! Our 3rd and 4th grade basketball program is designed to help players develop fundamental basketball skills while having fun and learning the game. We focus on proper shooting technique, ball handling, and defensive skills, all within a supportive and enjoyable environment.
Key Features
Skill Development: We emphasize the development of essential basketball skills, including shooting, passing, dribbling, and defense.
Proper Technique: Our coaches focus on teaching proper shooting form and ball handling techniques to help players develop a strong foundation.
Player-to-Player Defense: We introduce players to basic defensive concepts, such as guarding opponents, staying in front of the ball, and contesting shots.
Age-Appropriate Competition: While we encourage friendly competition, we understand that this age group is still developing their skills. Our focus is on skill development and having fun, rather than intense competition.
8-Foot Hoops: We use 8-foot hoops to provide a more appropriate challenge for 3rd and 4th graders.

Our 5th and 6th-grade basketball program is designed to help players take their game to the next level. We emphasize defensive skills, ball handling, offensive strategies, and proper shooting techniques, all within a supportive and enjoyable environment.

Enhanced Defensive Focus: We place a strong emphasis on defensive fundamentals, including guarding opponents, contesting shots, and stealing the ball.

Our 7th and 8th-grade basketball program is designed to prepare players for the rigors of high school basketball while fostering a love of the game. We emphasize skill development, defense, and offensive strategies in a competitive and challenging environment.

Advanced Skill Development: Our coaches provide expert instruction on a wide range of basketball skills, including shooting, passing, dribbling, and defensive techniques.
Competitive Environment: We create a competitive atmosphere to prepare players for the challenges of high school basketball.
Skill-Based Playing Time: Playing time is based on a player's skill level, effort at practice, coachability, and attendance. While we strive for equitable playing time, individual performance will be a significant factor.
