Positive Covid Test at Sutton Village School

March 24, 2021

Dear Parents of Sutton Village School Students,

I want to inform everyone that today, March 24, we learned that a member of our K-2 cohort has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). When we are alerted about a positive case we review our room logs and attendance records, determine specific contact times and notify individuals determined to be close contacts. We have consulted with the department of health and have made decisions based on their consultation.

The students in Sutton’s kindergarten, first, and second grade are pivoting to remote learning until Tuesday, March 30th with a possible return to in person learning on Wednesday, March 31st.

The final return date will be determined based on further information from the VT Department of Health.

Thank you for understanding that, due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release names of any individuals with COVID-19. Please do not ask or post on social media any speculation concerning the identity of the individuals. It is important to respect privacy and minimize rumors within our community.

We will continue to communicate changes and updates with you as necessary. Continue to take good care of yourselves and each other.
